Pasqualotto Chiara

 

 

She was born in Padua in 1976.
In 2000 she graduated in History and Criticism of Cinema with Giorgio Tinazzi with a thesis on color in the cinema of Eric Rohmer, then she taught Italian in the United States (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and in the Czech Republic.
In 2007 she attended figure courses at the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague. Since secondary school she has been interested in children illustration, from 2003 to 2015 she followed illustration courses at the International Illustration School in Sarmede (TV) and at Ars in Fabula in Macerata with Arcadio Lobato, Svetlan Junaković, Maurizio Quarello, Carll Cneut.
From 2015 to 2018 she collaborated with the New York agent Astound for editorial illustration work.
She published illustrated books with Italian and foreign publishing houses (Boxer Books, Giunti, Kar-Ben Publishing, Learning AZ, MineditionFrance, Oxford University Press, Paraclete, Terranuova, Tyndale).
She hold drawing workshops for children in bookstores, libraries, schools and festivals, and intensive summer courses at the International School of Comics in Padua. Since 2016 she is very interested in printmaking: she attended the intaglio courses of Maria Pina Bentivenga and Elisabetta Diamanti at the School of Ornamental Arts in Rome and later enrolled in Art Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (Illustration and art publishing). At the Academy she followed workshops on the production of colour, monotype, editorial silkscreen/illustration (Else edizioni), and typography (Betterpress and Alessandro Corubolo), and obtained two collaboration grants in the intaglio and woodcut laboratories.
She collaborated with the Busato Art Printing House in Vicenza.
In August 2019 she followed the copper burin symposium held by Koichi Yamamoto in Montefiore Conca (RI) at the Opificio della Rosa, where she had the opportunity to do an artist residency in September of the same year.
Since 2019 she has collaborated with Atelier InSigna, in particular as an assistant in the intaglio printing.
In July 2021 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in Art Printing with Gaetanina Campisi and Maria Pina Bentivenga, with an immersive installation of intaglio prints.
Since 2022 she has been part of the Associazione Nazionale Incisori Contemporanei.
She currently works as a laboratory technician in typography and screen printing courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, and teaches intaglio at the School of Ornamental Arts in Rome.
She has participated in exhibitions of painting, illustration, engraving and artists' books, and drawing and printing festivals, in Italy (Florence, Rome, Trieste, Ravenna, Modena, Cosenza, Mazzara del Vallo, Milan, Vicenza, Padua) and all abroad (France, Germany, Belgium, Kuwait).
