Vincenzo Burlizzi

 

 

Born in Melissano(Lecce) in 1967. From 1995 to 1999 he attend the etching course at the International School of specialization in Graphic Art “ Il Bisonte”. In 1999 he obtained the qualification of Etcher and Printmaker awarded by the Region of Tuscany and the European Union.
1996-1998 Laboratory assistant at the “Colour etching workshop” held in Barga (Lucca) by prof. S.  Kraczyna.
1998-1999 Laboratory assistant at the etching course of the Open University in Florence.
1999  Course of lectures for the Restoration Course of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence.
1999- 2001 Laboratory assistant at the International School of specialisation in Graphic Art “ il Bisonte”.
2002 Course of lectures for “Master in Lithography and Printmaking” by the Region of Tuscany.
2002, 2004, 2006 Etching Course of lectures for “Internationale Dresdner Sommerakademie” in Dresden (Germany).
Since 2002 he is professor at the International School of specialization in Graphic Art “ Il Bisonte”.
2007-2008 Course of lectures for “Florence Art Program” of Sarah Lowrence College of New York.
Work as an engraver in the wake of abstract art and use all the traditional techniques available, with a predilection for the etching. He is inspired by music, jazz in particular, that he try to translate into inner images and are the result of a continuous segnical sedimentation on the plates.
Lives and works in Florence.
