Mariela Canchari (Maca'n)

 

 

Mariela Canchari known as Maca’n in the art world, lives and works between Paris, London, Brittany and Cagliari.
His artistic experience begins in the world of drawing, painting and graphic design; at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, he obtained a specialist degree first in Painting and then in Graphics and Art Print, deepening the chalcographic engraving techniques.
Subsequently he attended a specialist Master at the "il Bisonte" Foundation in Florence, followed by a second Master at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in the faculty of Image imprimée in Paris.
His educational and artistic path includes workshops, artist residences, biennials, collective and personal exhibitions in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, mainly related to Art Graphics and Engraving, as well as photography and painting.
His works are the result of continuous research and experimentation using traditional and contemporary chalcographic techniques.
His works are part of several collections, including that of the V&A Museum in London, the Central Institute for National Graphics in Rome, the Cabinet of Ancient and Modern Prints in Bagnacavallo and the MAC, N Museum of Contemporary Art and Del ' 900 of Monsummano Terme. Maca'n is part of the Thames Side Print Studio and East London Printmakers of London, of the Manifestampe French Printmaking Federation and of the Association Atelier aux Lilas pour la Typographie et l'Estampe of Paris, of the ADOGI Asociación Difusora de la Obra Gráfica Internacional in Barcelona and the Italian Engravers Association.
She is the founder of the Maca'n Printmakers Space in Cagliari.
